The Teach Secondary 2020 finalists have been announced. It was great to discover that my professional learning programme with Accrington Academy staff during lockdown, ‘The Uncertainty Principle’, has been selected as one of the finalists in the CPD category.
The programme was delivered via Microsoft Teams conferencing to give staff (both teaching and support staff) the tools to cope with the challenging lockdown situation in school as well as support the young people and community the school serves. It also provided a framework to prepare for the huge challenges and uncertainties of re-opening the school to face-to-face learning.
Feedback from a selection of those who took part…
Just want to say a HUGE thank you for today’s session. I really got a lot from it! I have drawn the concentric circle diagram and stuck it to the corner of my workstation screen, just as a reminder to focus on what I can control and influence… and not get stressed over the things I cannot control/influence (something I definitely do)!
Thank you once again,
Hi Mark
Just a quick thank you for a brilliant session – short, sharp and to the point, with lots of excellent takeaways. A pleasure meeting you.
Take care and look after yourself
Mark,
The session was fantastic and so thought provoking during these uncertain times.
Thank you for investing in our staff, I am certain the benefits of the training will be felt by staff and students alike in the coming months and will make the school a much more stable and secure environment to be in.
It was a pleasure meeting you.
Just a quick one to say a big thanks for the session this afternoon.
Having suffered with bouts of anxiety and depression a lot through the stresses of work and all that brings. I found the analogies really useful and hopefully help if i’m down at the bottom of that ski slope!!
Have a good day and thanks again.
The full list of the finalists in all the categories can be found here.
Results will be announced in issue 9.7 of Teach Secondary magazine, which will be published on October 9th.
